Bombay, lux
A family friend is generously hosting me in the unbearably chic area of Bandra in Bombay. I’m here doing some worthier than worthy pro-bono work with disadvantaged children and am rewarding my daily do-gooding by indulging in the Bombay highlife by night. The contrast is sobering, but somehow wears off after a few apple martinis. I thought I’d share a few of my favourite spots. It’s amazing how welcome a decent coffee and an air-conditioned room can feel.
The Yoga House
Ok so I didn’t actually get round to doing a yoga class, but the cafe here is a calm, quirky haven of comfortable nooks and crannies on different levels. Light and airy, you can enjoy healthy, organic, light meals throughout the day. The aryuvedic porridge is a lovely way to start the day.

Pali Bhavan
My all top time top choice in Pali. A stunning space on two levels with a saloon style bar, chandeliers and killer cocktails to match. Don’t miss the apple martini. Indulge in the highest quality of Indian food for a treat of a feast. Fish tikka, butter chicken and the Pan dessert rapped in banana leaves are all to die for.

Pali village cafe
Revamped warehouse style decoration and free wifi make for a wonderful place to chill out with a good coffee. Fluffy french toast or pancakes in the morning and all manner of salads and greenery during the day offer an escape from curry and samosas. If you want it.

The Taj Mahal Tea House
A beautifully decorated tea house and restaurant with plenty of comfortable seating and in house wifi. The tea menu is an extensive journey through traditional and modern, hot and cold, or sweet and savoury brews. Delicious food all day long with plenty of variety.
